We have the radio and the television on constantly in our office and multiple online feeds coming straight to our screens.

It’s one of the reasons we’re so agile in our responses for clients, we’re on top of the news agenda and ready to react. Sadly, it’s been hard to watch and listen this week without sighing every so often at the anger and frustration around the current political mess. You can hear it in every radio phone-in or edition of Question Time.

But in a week when, let’s face it, things turned out pretty pear-shaped on the political front, we were heartened by this video of poet Casey Bailey closing the UK Midlands presence at global business investor showcase MIPIM 2019.

Because when all is said and done, our region is resilient. Our regional investment teams are promoting the multi-million pound opportunities in our backyard*, which will bring economic growth and highly skilled jobs for our young people.

Bailey’s poem Midlander celebrates what it’s like to be from ‘here’, so if you’ve got five minutes have a look, we’re betting you smile and feel proud. We did.

*And when we say in our backyard, we mean literally! One of the investor opportunities being showcased is Ni-Park at Newport, a new agri-tech focused business park being delivered by Enterprise Telford, part of Telford & Wrekin Council, in conjunction with Harper Adams University – also just up the road!

As the PR agency for the public and private sector organisation tasked with growing the regional economy, Be Bold Media was engaged to support the local authority investment teams for Telford, Shropshire and Herefordshire as they prepared to showcase our region to the world.

This saw us deliver everything from image and quote banks to our colleagues at the West Midlands Growth Company, supporting the wider region’s presence at MIPIM as Midlands UK, to an 80 second film for the pavilion video wall. We’ve written brochure content, digital marketing collateral and news releases. And this week updated multiple social media feeds to increase the reach of the opportunities to an audience wider than the delegates lucky enough to be in Cannes.

If you need a hand raising your profile, give us a call. We can pretty much do anything. And we’re proud to be doing it from the Midlands.
